SCE performed a subsurface exploration for the proposed airport storage shed. During the inital investigation, highly weathered karst soils and rocks were observed. A geophycial study approved by the Town of Leesburg was performed and a possible void in the area of the proposed building was found in the study requiring deeper borings and rock coring. The second exploration exposed a large void in the rock directly under the proposed building. SCE provided consulation with the Town of Leesburg personnel, architects and structural engineers to determine building options and budgeting. SCE provided an extensive geotechnical report, including calculations and designs, with recommendations on the construction of the proposed building.
