 Soil Consultants Engineering (SCE) provided construction observation and material testing for three four-story condominiums with underground parking garages. SCE performed all footing, framing and reinforced concrete inspections, concrete testing, on all structural aspects of the buildings including the elevated slabs. Laboratory and field concrete cylinders were created at the time of each pour in accordance with Fairfax County, all cylinders are picked up and brought back to the on site laboratory in the required 24-hour time frame and all cylinders were organized in the concrete lab and broken at the designated times to confirm stripping and further concrete placement can continue. Timing was critical to make sure all testing, pickups for lab and field cylinders, and breaks were completed in each work day. Performed all structural steel inspections and performing video inspections for all framing, insulation, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. All land development including parking lots, travelways, sidewalks and green areas are tested during construction for engineering compliance.
